During 2007-2010 the Swedish robotics initiative Robotdalen received additional funding from the European Regional Development fund. We have now earned renewed confidence as we’ve been granted another 2.1 million euro for 2011-2013. Funding that will help secure our goal to enable commercial success of new ideas and research within robotics and automation.

The company [zoomcamp] has developed an electrically driven, cross-country
four-wheeler with large accessibility in the countryside as well as in urban environments. The product offers increased mobility for people with difficulty to walk. It has been development with support from the Swedish robotics initiative Robotdalen and is part of our venture to establish Technology for Independent Life as a new line of business in Sweden.

Four years ago, Geoff Pegman, an active promoter of robotics development, came in contact with Robotdalen for the first time. As key note speaker at the annual event Robotdalen day he painted a picture on how to strengthen the robotics industry in Europe. Since then he’s had regular contact with Robotdalen and now, four years later, I took the opportunity for a follow-up interview.
