Increased life expectancy and increased health care costs are factors behind the research profile that will focus on developing new technologies to prevent accidents and catch diseases before they become too serious. This involves new technologies for monitoring, diagnosis and treatment remotely, providing support for workers in hazardous environments and increase the possibility for patients to stay at home despite medical conditions that require monitoring.
Participating companies are Cambio, Delta, Etteplan, Giraffe Technologies, Hawk Instruments, JC Development, Medfield Diagnostics, Motion Control, Quality Pharma as well as municipalities and hospitals in the region. The Knowledge Foundation contributes with 36 MSEK, Mälardalen University and the other partners are co-funders of the research profile that will run for six years.
