Fire robot
The greatest economic benefit by far for a fire fighting robot is to put the fire out faster, thus reducing the damage and costs. Another important aspect is of course the increased potential for saving human lives. The fire robot that is now being developed is seen as an internationally viable product.
AB Realisator is the Swedish company behind Robotdalens fire robot project that aims at developing a demonstrator/prototype in 2011. Involved in the project are also the research center AASS (Applied Autonomous Sensor Systems) at Örebro University, the fire station in the municipality of Södertörn and the The Board for Swedish Fire Research. The project has received funding from VINNOVA, the Swedish Governmental Agency for Innovation Systems.
