Gasbot detects methane emissions
Researchers have concluded that methane emissions are significantly higher than previously estimated. It also has an impact on global warming that is 30 times higher than that of carbon dioxide.
Gasbot is a mobile robot, equipped with sensors that detect and analyse gas leaks and draw up maps showing their locations. The robot could be used to tackle the problem with methane gas, says IEEE Spectrum in its latest issue.
Gasbot is developed at Örebro University in Sweden, with researcher Achim Lilienthal as project manager. Robotdalen supports the commercialization process.
