Enter the woodlands with [zoomcamp]!
The company [zoomcamp] has developed an electrically driven, cross-country
four-wheeler with large accessibility in the countryside as well as in urban environments. The product offers increased mobility for people with difficulty to walk. It has been development with support from the Swedish robotics initiative Robotdalen and is part of our venture to establish Technology for Independent Life as a new line of business in Sweden.
During 2010 the four-wheeler was introduced on the market and so far the company has received 15 orders.
- The product Zoom [uphill] is developed to increase the mobility for people who can’t move about freely in their everyday life. The long-term goal is to develop a vehicle capable of climbing stairs and really steep ledges, says Karri Zanderléhn from the company [zoomcamp].
Pioneer customers become test pilots
Zoom [uphill] offers people with difficulty to walk the ability and freedom to move around in the countryside. The vehicle is an electrically-driven, cross-country four-wheeler with the capacity to handle difficult woodland terrain and obstacles in urban environments. The company is now cooperating with pioneer customers acting as test pilots to evaluate pros and cons, strengths and weaknesses of the concept, to retrieve valuable information for further development.
- Our vision is to create freedom of movement for everyone, Karri Zanderléhn states. That’s why we want end-users, who will use the product in their everyday life, to participate in the development so that we can take their demands and wishes into consideration during the development process.
Technology for Independent Life - a new line of business emerges
In near future, one third of all Swedes will be 65 years or older. This requires changes in the health and elderly care sector introducing more technical solutions, such as robots. Not to replace the staff, but to give individuals independence, integrity and improved life quality. Robotdalen acts on Technology for Independent Life as a new line of business in Sweden - an area with huge potential when it comes to innovation and development. The Swedish health and elderly care system provides an excellent test bed for development of new robotic applications. Zoom[uphill] is one of many products receiving support for development from Robotdalen.
