World-leading in robotics

Swedish Workshop on Autonomous Robots ´09

Aims and Objectives

Over the last few years, robotics has continued to expand from its factory birthplace into new unstructured and populated environments such as households and outdoor areas. Today, an increasing number of researchers and developers all over Sweden are actively participating in this expansion.

The Fourth Swedish Workshop on Autonomous Robotics, SWAR’09, is organized by Mälardalen University in cooperation with Robotdalen. It is an excellent opportunity for researchers and engineers working in robotics and autonomous systems in a wide sense to learn about activities of neighboring institutions discuss common interests and initiate new cooperations. The previous workshops SWAR’00, SWAR’02, and SWAR’05, hosted by Örebro University, KTH, and FOI respectively, were met with great enthusiasm by the participants.

SWAR’09 will be in the form of a double track with oral presentations and poster sessions. Recent research results will be presented together with ongoing projects. Invited talks will be given by nominees to the Robotdalen Scientific Award 2009.
